T.S. McFadden
Based in New York, both in Manhattan and the Catskill Mountains, McFadden uses the elements of both the linear and organic world that surrounds him to create his art. Born in a small town and raised in the country, McFadden has sculpted and painted since he was a child.
The energy and color in his work comes from a need to break free from the confines of his youth. His use of texture juxtaposed with strong graphic elements suggest an inner conflict, one hidden carefully by many beautiful layers of color, yet at the same time, dark and boldly reaching outward demanding to be noticed.
McFadden is also inspired by his dog, Seven, a Pitt-Lab mix he rescued while living in Los Angeles. One of his first watercolors as a youth was of a dog. Years later he would pull it out and realize he had painted the dog almost exactly as the one he now calls his best friend.
McFadden is also a published author, a screenwriter and an old soul.
